Private Jet Rental Surge: What To Keep In Mind When Booking

The private jet market is experiencing a massive surge in demand leading to higher prices and lower flight availability. For anyone who’s been hoping to take flight on a private jet charter, securing a seat can feel like a challenging experience.

Read on as we list some helpful tips to help you get your hands on a private jet, save time, and arrive at your destination hassle-free.

1. Book Your Private Jet Flight in Advance

If you already know when and where you want to go, then don’t hesitate to book your private jet well in advance. The earlier you can book, the more likely you are to get your hands on the plane you want.

However, Vault Aviation has connections and can often get you airborne in under a day! Keep in mind that using a reputable private jet charter company can make all the difference.

2. Avoid Flying on Peak Days

Peak days are the days that most people try to book their flights. Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays often see the most flyers. The demand is highest these days, which means that prices can be higher and have lower availability for certain jet companies.

Luckily, Vault Aviation doesn’t believe in blackout dates and works diligently with our industry relationships to find you a private jet even on busy days – but for the largest selection (and if you can help it) avoid peak days for an easier process.

3. Know Where the FBO is Located

The FBO (Fixed Based Operator) is where your jet will be waiting. The FBO can be an issue because they’re not all the same. For example, some FBOs will be much further from the city than less popular ones. This can affect how much time you should allocate on the drive to your flight.

If you don’t know where you want your jet to be waiting, check with your private jet charter provider as soon as possible to avoid getting lost or delayed. Your Vault team is always here to make your flight smooth!

4. Consider Tracking Your Private Jet Flight for Delays

Most private aircraft have a tracking service on board. If you know the plane’s tail number, you can check its location and determine if it is delayed, diverted, or stuck in traffic. Websites like FlightAware can provide you with real-time updates simply by inputting the flight or tail number.

Talk to your Vault Jet team member for more accurate information about your incoming jet. If there is a delay or diversion, we will be able to let you know sooner.

5. Reconfirm Details with Vault Before Heading to the Airport

Before heading to the airport, make sure that you reconfirm with us all details. We’ll always be able to let you know if there are any changes in plans.

If requested, we are happy to provide ground transportation to the FBO or the airport. Be sure to ask us about your ground transportation preferences so you can start your luxurious trip sooner.

6. Arrive Before Your Scheduled Departure Time

If you know the location of where your private jet is parked, make sure that you arrive before the scheduled departure. If your jet is scheduled to depart at a certain time, and you are running late, let your Vault Jet team member know, and they will do their best to fix the time discrepancy.

Schedules and waiting times vary depending on where your jet is and what kind of plane you’re using.

Work With A Trusted & Reliable Private Jet Charter Company

Private jets are a luxurious way to travel, but the industry is currently facing a shortage of aircraft due to the surge. By following these six tips, you’ll be able to book your flight well in advance, secure the right aircraft, and still experience a hassle-free flying experience.

Of course, it’s also better to work with a reliable private jet charter provider that can help simplify the process of finding the right flight, and make everything from booking to ground transportation to delays run smoothly!

Vault Aviation offers the benefits of owning a private jet without the headaches and limitations. If you’re looking to book the best jet for your journey, contact us today. Our team would be happy to discuss your options and provide you with a free, custom quote.

Ask Vault Aviation: On Demand Private Jet Charter FAQs

Flying on a private jet charter offers an entirely different level of convenience, luxury, and flexibility, giving you the privacy and amenities to make your flight both unique and comfortable. See our frequently asked questions below to provide you with everything you need to know about private flights, even before you arrive on the tarmac.

What Is an On Demand Private Jet Charter?

On Demand private jet charters give you the freedom to fly where you want, when you want, on whatever plane you want. It is the ideal flight for busy executives and top management, as well as professional athletes and those in the sports industry. With faster check-ins, quicker transit time, and, most importantly, total control over your flying experience – there is a reason On Demand is the new way to fly.

Whether you’re flying to a meeting in a different city or visiting multiple sites in one day, a private jet charter gives you a range of options.

Vault Aviation’s On Demand private jet charter allows you to fully experience flying in a private jet, without the pitfalls of ownership like repair and maintenance costs, hangarage fees, and crew salaries.

How Much Does It Cost?

The charter flight’s costs will depend on your trip. Other than the type of jet you will charter, the days you will use it and how long the flight is will also factor into your charter price. The size of the plane will play a role in determining its hourly rate. However, we want you to always be fully informed, see below the general range of standard costs for jets in different sizes.

  • Light Jet | 4-7 Passengers | $3,500 – $5,500/hr
  • Midsize Jet | 7-8 Passengers | $4,500 – $7,500/hr
  • Super Midsize Jet | 8-9 Passengers | $5,500 – $9,500/hr
  • Heavy Cabin Jet | 10-13 Passengers | $6,500 – $13,500/hr

If you need help finding the right plane to charter, Vault Aviation has expert advisors to help our customers determine the private jet they can charter at the best value. We promise to provide options that are tailor-made to your needs.

How Do I Pay for Private Jet Charters?

We accept payment via bank wire transfer and all major credit cards, but we will require payment in full 72-hours before the date of departure.

Vault Aviation also provides last-minute bookings and reservations on short notice for those with urgent trips or if other plans fall through.

For your convenience, Vault Aviation will allow you to wire the funds after the trip by placing a hold on your credit card for the flight. We will also hold funds on file for frequent flyers and apply the funds to each trip for your convenience.

What Kind of Private Jets Can I Book?

There are numerous aircraft types and models you can book, depending on the itinerary and preferences you have. Vault Aviation has a variety of aircraft at our disposal that suits whatever flight needs our customers need. We provide light jets for individuals, single business persons, and small parties.

We also offer heavy cabin private jets for larger groups looking for a more luxurious flight to their destination.

How Do I Book a Private Jet Charter Flight?

Check our website and get a custom quote for your charter depending on what you want, where you are going, and when. You will need to provide the place of departure, place of arrival, dates of the trip, and the number of passengers, along with any details you think are pertinent and we should know.

After that, Vault Aviation’s expert advisors will contact our network of aircraft operators and provide you with a quote in as little as a day!

What Are the Requirements for a Private Jet Charter Flight?

One of the best things about private jet charters is that you don’t have to go through the hassle of going through the usual airport security, making it ideal for last-minute flights and seamless travel. While private hangars will still go through airport security, the process is much faster and less intrusive—no more taking off your shoes and belt or waiting in line.

All you need to do is go directly to the flight service of the charter flight, quickly check in your luggage, and you can start the trip.

Depending on your destination, you must carry your passport as the same identification is still required. If your flight goes over international lines, you will also need a visa for certain countries and stays, along with any other documents required by the government to allow you to enter the country.

Simply pick your plane and enjoy your flight.

How Our On Demand Private Jet Charters Work

Vault leverages relationships with aircraft operators around the world to create a ‘micro-market for each individual charter trip. Rather than using the antiquated fixed-price model that locks you into above-market prices, our On Demand model stimulates price competition, allowing Vault to offer the true market price for every flight.

Our process is designed for ease and simplicity:

1. Give your Vault Aviation expert your trip details, wants, and needs.

2. Our experts reach out to 10 to 20 aircraft operators for price quotes.

3. Vault uses a proprietary process to identify the true market price for the flight.

4 . After identifying the true market price, Vault approaches the operators to secure the proper plane which aligns with the true market price and your preferences.

Your choices will consist of different cabin classes at various price points, each reflecting our work in securing the lowest possible price. As your guide, Vault will make strategic recommendations to help you choose the best aircraft for your trip.

How Do We Source Our Private Aircraft?

Vault Aviation is a charter brokerage, this means that we do not own or operate the aircraft that we charter – this means more value for you! Vault has an extensive network of over 5,000 safety-audited aircraft around the world.

Plus, to protect the safety of you and your family, we exclusively charter aircraft that carry ARGUS or Wyvern safety ratings (or their foreign equivalents for international travel), and we perform our own independent audits of maintenance records and pilot credentials.

Vault Is Not Only the First On Demand Private Jet Broker – We Are The Top!

Vault Aviation uses its leveraged relationships with aircraft operators to strategically negotiate the best prices on the best airplanes. While the private aviation industry can be full of mystery, we want to practice transparency and communication.

Our aviation advisors will ensure that you understand why your flight costs what it costs, what safety credentials the plane and crew hold, and which options are best at your preferred price point.

Vault was founded to de-mystify the cluttered private jet industry and guide our clients to the safest and most luxurious aircraft at the best price.

Happy Holidays from Vault Aviation & Our Safety for On Demand Private Planes

2020 has been a tough year in many ways. From personal to professional, this year has been one of upheaval and change. Vault Aviation hasn’t been immune to these changes and curveballs, however, we are so very thankful for our clients, families, team, and more.

Vault Aviation has had the pleasure of connecting families, sport, and work teams over the past 12 months in a safe and luxurious way. We have always kept safety as our highest priority, but this year we upped that even more with COVID-19 and our cleaning regulations and precautions.

Even during a pandemic (maybe especially during a pandemic), having time to unwind matters, and we are thankful that we have been able to provide much-needed relaxation and restoration to many of our clients and their families and friends this year as well – all with the highest safety measures and cares.

Vault Aviation & Our Commitment to Safety

Our pricing and service are how we provide value to our clients, but our safety is even more important. At Vault Aviation, we abide by the Platinum Rule: Never book a client on a plane we wouldn’t board ourselves.

We value getting you and your group to their destination safely, which is why we use only select safety-audited operators who comply with ARGUS or Wyvern safety standards. These safety groups are some of the strictest and help us and our clients have peace of mind every time you board one of our On Demand private planes.

“Vault only sources aircraft from FAR Part 135 Charter Operators, and we mandate that they carry a minimum of $50,000,000 in insurance and show no history of damage or irregular maintenance events.”

Plus, each of our planes is flown by 2 highly-qualified pilot crews. Vault Aviation will never charter a plane with only a single pilot – no exceptions. Our safety checklist includes:

  • Audits from The Aviation Research Group US (“ARGUS”) or Wyvern
  • Audits for the operator’s maintenance records, flight history, & insurance coverage
  • Audits for the frequency of inspections, & meeting/exceeding FAA standards
  • Considerations of pilot training, flight hours, and pilot medical records

For Operators, ARGUS Has a Four-Tier Rating System:

  1. Does Not Qualify,
  2. Gold
  3. Gold Plus
  4. Platinum

Wyvern Safety Ratings & PASS:

Vault Aviation also references Wyvern Safety Ratings as an additional layer of safety for pilots, not just our On Demand aircraft and ARGUS. Wyvern performs a second audit on the operator, the aircraft, and the pilots by running a Pilot & Aircraft Safety Survey (“PASS”) report.

The “PASS” report details everything from pilot hours to medical certifications. The following information is included in a “PASS” report:

  • Verification that a charter operator holds a current Air Operating Certificate
  • Verification that the aircraft being chartered is listed on the air carrier’s Operations Specifications
  • Confirmation of current insurance for the aircraft
  • Confirmation that each crew member’s experience meets a specific safety standard
  • Confirmation that each crew member’s medical and license information is current
  • Confirmation that the operator has Civil Aviation Authority approval for international operations at chosen locations

FAA Approved FAR Part 135 Charter Operators:

Vault exclusively sources aircraft from FAA approved FAR Part 135 Charter Operators. FAR Part 135 are the federal laws governing everything from airworthiness of an aircraft to record-keeping practices to ensure you are safe, and the records are accurate.

The Charter Operators employ the pilots, handle the maintenance, and remain in operational control of the charter flights at all times. Operational Control refers to the safe operation of an aircraft during a charter flight. Essentially, it means that the pilots are in control and all decisions about the flight are made by them to assure the safety of the passengers and the aircraft.

Vault maintains close relationships with the private jet charter industry’s top operators. These relationships allow us to have preferential access to the safest and most luxurious aircraft available for charter, each of which is flown by the most experienced crews in the industry!

Safety & COVID-19:

In addition to our high-safety in regard to aircraft, pilots, audits, and maintenance records, Vault Aviation is committed to safety and cleanliness to prevent the spread of COVID. By ensuring that every private plane is clean, disinfected, and in perfect order for your needs, your group, and your safety, we take pride in our ability to keep you safe from the moment you board our plane, until the moment your feet touch the ground at your final destination.

Vault Aviation is Thankful for You!

Vault Aviation acts as an agent on behalf of you to arrange every aspect of your charter flight, safety, and more! Vault’s loyalty is 100% with our clients, and we have no formal arrangements with any individual aircraft operators that would prevent us from getting you the best plane at the best price.

This means there is never any conflict of interest or outside pressure. We are always working exclusively for your benefit and we will never compromise on quality or safety!

Full Ownership VS Fractional Jet Ownership VS On Demand Private Jet Charter

We all know there are options in the public sector like First Class, Business Class, or Coach. Each of these options has peaks and pitfalls all on their own, but there are also multiple options available in the private sector!

We’ve talked about what the trends are, but that doesn’t give a near detailed enough picture of the options available to private flyers or the numbers, benefits, and barriers of each.

From full jet ownership, fractional jet ownership, and On Demand private jet charters, there is a lot to know and understand. Which is why Vault Aviation wanted to break it down for you so you can make a fully-informed decision based on the facts

There is no one answer for all, as each flyer has different needs, goals, desires, and destinations in mind, however, certain facts are known, and certain demographics or averages can be pulled from the stats too.

Let’s see the differences, similarities, data, and previous research of each of the three major options in private jet flight: private jet full ownership, fractional ownership, and On Demand private jet charters.

Full Ownership of a Private Jet

Full ownership is what many people still think of when talking about flying privately, whether that be positive or negative, but what is the information you should know about fully owning an aircraft?

The advantages are clear for owning your own private jet – you fully own it, meaning you have full control over times, dates, customer services, amenities, personalized features, and frequency.

But all coins have two sides.

Whole or full ownership also means you have only one aircraft to fit all flight needs, which translates to no multi-departures or availability during maintenance. Additionally, there are extra repositioning fees, high initial cost on the investment, depreciation, and high costs at low levels of use.

Now, this is where the flyer must decide if they feel the positives outweigh the negatives or if another option might fit their needs more accurately.

For some clients, whole ownership and the associated fees such as $700,000 to $4 million in maintenance or continued costs per year are not considered too steep for the convenience of having your very own private aircraft. However, for many others, this is not the case and a marriage between needs and wants must be found.

Benefits of Whole Ownership:

  • Full control over your aircraft
  • High levels of services, customization, and initial choice
  • Low costs with high levels of use

Cons of Whole Ownership:

  • High initial costs
  • Aggressive depreciating of your asset
  • High costs with low levels of use
  • No use during maintenance
  • One aircraft for all trips – short, long, international, overnight, etc.

Fractional Ownership

Fractional ownership is most commonly associated with NetJets, introduced in 1986, and Warren Buffett. This form of private jet travel was the standard for many years if you didn’t want to own a plane or didn’t use private air travel enough to warrant such a large purchase – both upfront and in operating costs.

Fractional ownership can most easily be explained as if you are buying a share of a fleet or plane, but issues similar to timeshares can come up because of this, in particular, the sharing part. If you are spending at the very least 100,000 dollars, then often the fractional owners have difficulties agreeing on usage times, dates, and heavy-flying periods, even if your fleet is large.

Additionally, there is usually a time commitment involved, anything from 3-7 years, which might not be convenient for all fractional owners. How can you know your travel needs for the next 5 years? What if you find yourself needing more in-air hours or fewer? What if you will require international private jet flights and your company doesn’t cater to that need? Or what if you find the service or aircraft not up to expected standards? What can be done when you are in a long-term relationship with an expensive partner.

It is important to note as well that there is a higher cost at a higher level of utilization for most fractional ownerships, meaning those who use private jets often are not getting the best deal from fractional ownership.

But then why was fractional ownership such a huge sweep for so many years? Again, the same reason timeshares were popular – a sharing of responsibility, cost, and maintenance.

The largest change was that now there are many options for ‘sharing’ costs and maintenance responsibilities, such as the next area of private jet travel that has come up in popularity in recent years – private jet cards or loyalty programs.

Benefits of Fractional Ownership:

  • Sharing of costs, responsibilities, depreciation, and maintenance
  • Low costs with low utilization

Cons of Fractional Ownership:

  • Long-term commitment
  • Sharing availability on heavy travel dates (if you don’t fractionally own a fleet)
  • High costs with high levels of utilization
    • The highest cost for flyers of over 150 hours per year
    • Paying for hours in addition to reoccurring ownership/management costs
    • Upfront costs can be hundreds of thousands of dollars for 1/16th ownership
  • Lack of flexibility for your in-air hours over the course of your time contract
  • Potential lack of flexibility for international flights based on your contract

On Demand Private Jet Charters

On Demand private jet charters have been around as long as the idea of owning a private jet, however, their practices have improved so vastly in recent years that the private jet chartering business is near unrecognizable from its former self.

In large part, this is due to private jet brokerage companies getting their technology, customer services, and inventory aligned with the needs of their clientele. However, there are downsides to this seeming jack-of-all-trades, like a lack of availability if your broker doesn’t have a long reach or many contacts in the industry to call on when flights are thin.

Going along with the above, if your broker is not full-service, you might just have to book through multiple operators – costing you more of your time, effort, and energy. This is why it is imperative to find yourself working with a full-service broker who is able to find whatever you want, whenever you want it, and do it all themselves.

Benefits of On Demand Private Jet Charters:

  • No investment in a depreciating asset
  • No fixed costs or fees
  • No contracts or time commitments
  • Only pay for the hours you use
  • More flexibility for changes in hours, days, number of flights or aircraft desired
  • Lowest cost for flyers of 50-500 hours per year

Cons of On Demand Private Jet Charters:

  • Less control over availability if your broker isn’t well connected
  • Might need several operators if your broker isn’t full-service

Ways to Stay in Touch During Safer at Home

Vault Aviation knows that staying in touch is important, especially now as many of us are socially distancing ourselves from others. However, socially distancing doesn’t mean we can’t still be virtually close to those we care about.

Staying together – even if we can’t gather traditionally – is important, which is why Vault has created our top list of tips and ideas for how you can still gather and stay close to those you care most about.

From parents or children, to friends and colleagues, let’s all stay connected until we are able to travel again.

Stay Connected with an Online Cocktail Hour

Staying connected is easier now than ever before, as there are so many ways to see your friends and families, even if it is only virtual.

Do you have friends you usually meet up with for a cocktail hour or a night out? Do the same, but from the comfort of your own home! Dress up, pick up your favorite drink or ingredients on a grocery run, and schedule an online cocktail hour with your friends.

You can project your FaceTime onto your Apple TV if you have an iPhone or use an HDMI cable from your laptop to your TV to truly feel like you’re all together.

And if you aren’t a big drinker – that’s fine, too! Have a dinner party, coffee date, anything! The point is to keep up with some of your normal scheduled events, just from home. And the main point of these online meetups, is the conversation with those you love.

Stay Playful with a Virtual Game Night

Some families are all together under one roof, which makes game night still a possibility, but for those who only have one or two people in their home, you might be missing game nights!

Luckily, with technology, you can have virtual game nights on many apps, just make sure you also have a way to see each other, like Zoom, Skype, Facetime, or HouseParty.

Here are some of the apps you can use for virtual game nights that have blown up in popularity in the past few weeks:

And of course, there are always the traditional board games! As long as you both have the game, you can set it up and play from afar with each other – just make sure you keep up with the turns, as you’ll probably have to move your partner’s pieces on your own game board to keep track.

Relax with a Together-from-Afar Movie Night

Movie nights are a great way to feel together, even if you aren’t. Pop some popcorn, call a friend, start your movies simultaneously, and watch together.

If it sounds difficult to start your show or movie at the exact same time, no worries! If you can’t find any movies that both you and your friends own, no worries! Netflix has created Netflix Party to help out with this.

Here’s how it works:

Netflix Party Description Block

Skype, Call, Zoom – Just Talk to Each Other

The whole point of any and all of these options is to stay connected and close to those you love. So, get creative! Have dinners together, workout together, watch shows or have a drink together, play a board game or just call to say ‘hi’.

It doesn’t matter what we do, as long as we do it together – virtually.

Vault Aviation is Here to Help

Though most leisure travel is recommended to be paused, there are still many who need to travel for essential reasons like getting to their family, performing work functions, medical travel, and other essential needs.

Vault Aviation is still here for you, and still able to get you where you need to go with safety, comfort, and speed.

Contact Vault Aviation if you need an On Demand private jet charter and see how we can help you get where you need to go – faster.

We’re all in this together, and we’ll be here for you every step of the way. We are looking forward to when we can all travel again for any reason, but until then, stay safe.

More Bang for Your Buck: MAX Jet Card for On Demand Private Jet Charters

To MAX Jet Card or not to MAX Jet Card? That is the question!

Vault has many options for our frequent flyers and though variety is the spice of life, some of our clients wonder which of our On Demand private jet charter options or plans are the best for their style, frequency, and needs.

Well, question no longer, as Vault Aviation’s team has compiled the end-all guide for On Demand Private Jet Charters and our MAX Jet Card.

Read on to learn more about our MAX Jet Card:

  • Benefits
  • Pricing
  • And when it’s right for you

MAX Jet Card Benefits

Our jet card isn’t like all the others. Because instead of throwing your money into a private-jet-pit where it depreciates, is locked-in, or makes you pay fees for withdrawing your own money, we did it the right way. No fees, fixed rates, no blackout dates, and more!

Our MAX Jet Cards offer:

  • Access to All Cabin Classes (no black-out cabins or sizes)
  • Fixed Hourly Rate Maximums (never pay more, only less)
  • No Blackout Dates (because then what’s the point of the card?)
  • Free Cabin Upgrades When Available (only ever be pleasantly surprised)
  • Guaranteed Mechanical Recovery (we will get you there, even if it means a better plane)
  • No Membership Fees (ever)
  • Guaranteed Availability (if there’s a private jet charter out there, we’ll get it for you)
  • Your Funds Never Expire (so you’re never racing the clock to use your own money)
  • Fully Refundable Balance (never a ‘use it or lose it’ mentality)

Our MAX Jet Card is the only program of its kind in the private jet charter industry, because we offer you a discount on every flight you take with us. That’s what we think a loyalty program should be – loyal on both sides and beneficial to both parties.

We even named our card after its biggest benefit. It’s called the MAX Jet Card because of the fixed hourly rates that are used to calculate the MAXIMUM hourly rate you’ll pay for a flight – and if we can get your private jet charter for less, we will.

Vault uses the same process to source private jet charters for our MAX Jet Card members that we use for all our On Demand flights. And the result is almost always being able to provide MAX Jet Card members with a price that is below their fixed rates.

And if the price happens to be higher? You are protected by your guaranteed rates and won’t have to pay the difference – we will. Our MAX Jet Card provides you with all the benefits of a Jet Card combined with all the potential cost savings associated with On Demand charter.

How Safe Are On Demand Private Jet Charters?

Some worry about safety standards on flights – both commercial and private – and often, the smaller the plane, the more they worry. Vault Aviation wants you to have the facts and enjoy your flight without a worry in your mind, which is why we have always been (and always will be) so serious about safety.

Read on to learn the safety standards of our On Demand private jet charters, and rest easy on your next Vault Jet flight.

Vault Aviation Safety Standards

While outstanding pricing and sky-high service are how we provide the very best value to our Vault Aviation family and clients, safety will always be our highest priority.

We live and work by the Platinum Rule, which is: never book a client on a plane you wouldn’t board yourselfWe value your safety above all else, which is why Vault Aviation uses a first-rate group of safety-audited operators who comply with ARGUS and/or Wyvern safety standards.

In addition, Vault Aviation only sources aircraft from FAR Part 135 Charter Operators, and we mandate that they carry a minimum of $50,000,000 in insurance and show no history of damage or irregular maintenance.

From light jets and turboprops to heavy cabin jets, every single one of our private aircraft is flown by 2 highly qualified pilots – regardless of if it’s a short flight on a small plane or an international flight on a heavy hitter. Vault Aviation will never charter a plane with only one pilot.

We reach the highest safety levels in three ways: aircraft safety auditing, pilot safety and credentials, and aircrafts charter operators.

Aircraft Safety Auditing with All Vault Aviation Flights

Vault Aviation only charters private jets that are thoroughly audited by The Aviation Research Group US – “ARGUS” – or Wyvern.

ARGUS audits maintenance records, flight history, insurance coverage, the frequency of inspections, and an operator’s ability to exceed the FAA standards. Additionally, they review pilot training, flight hours, and medical records.

ARGUS has a four-tier rating system:

  • (1) Does Not Qualify
  • (2) Gold
  • (3) Gold Plus
  • (4) Platinum

All of our operators must provide their latest records in order to be cleared for each flight. Prior to your flight, Vault Aviation will request an ARGUS TripCHEQ to ensure that the aircraft, crew, and trip meet all ARGUS standards – making sure that your trip is as safe as it is enjoyable!

Vault Aviation Pilot Safety Credentials

All of the private jet charters that Vault Aviation sources will be piloted by 2 highly experienced pilots: a Pilot-In-Command (PIC) and Second-In-Command (SIC). While ARGUS Ratings are highly important to us, we go a step beyond to ensure your safety and comfort!

Vault Aviation references Wyvern Safety Ratings as an additional layer of protection. Independent of ARGUS, Wyvern allows us to perform a secondary review of the operator, the aircraft, and the two pilots.

The Wyvern Pilot & Aircraft Safety Survey (“PASS”) report details everything from pilot hours to medical certifications. Here are some of the areas checked in a PASS report:

  • Verification that a charter operator holds a current Air Operating Certificate
  • Verification that the aircraft being chartered is listed on the air carrier’s Operations Specifications
  • Confirmation of current insurance for the aircraft
  • Confirmation that each crew member’s experience meets a specific safety standard
  • Confirmation that each crew member’s medical and license information is current
  • Confirmation that the operator has Civil Aviation Authority approval for international operations at chosen locations

The Aircraft Charter Operators

Vault exclusively sources aircraft from FAA approved FAR Part 135 Charter Operators. FAR Part 135 is a set of federal laws governing everything from airworthiness of an aircraft to record-keeping practices.

Operational Control refers to the safe operation of an aircraft during a charter flight. This means that the pilots are in control and all decisions about the flight are made by them to ensure the safety of the passengers and the aircraft.

Under operational control principles, nothing the client says and nothing Vault says will affect the safe operation of an aircraft.

For example, if a flight to Aspen must divert due to weather conditions, neither Vault Aviation, nor the passengers, can override the judgment of the flight crew. This means the ultimate decision rests entirely on the pilots to ensure a safe landing – which is their job, and one they are exceedingly good at (as their Vault-required certifications show).

We Take Your Safety Seriously & We Fly by the Platinum Rule

Vault Aviation’s commitment and loyalty is 100% to our clients, and we have no legal or contractual arrangements with any individual aircraft operators. This means, there is never a conflict of interest or outside pressure.

We don’t have any incentive to put a Vault client on a specific plane from a specific operator, so instead, we have the freedom to find you the best flights, the best jets, the best price and safety there is!

7 Private Jet Charter Travel Tips for the Frequent Business Flyer

Many of Vault Aviation’s frequent flyers use our On Demand private jet charters for business and corporate travel – but that doesn’t mean it’s a chore! We pride ourselves on making flying for both work and pleasure an amazing, luxurious, and seamless experience.

Here are a few of our tips for the frequent business flyer on how to make their private jet charter experience the best possible.

Whether it’s your 1st or 1,000th flight with us, read on to learn everything there is to know about private business travel with Vault Aviation.

Carry-On VS Suitcase

Though there are never weight restrictions on your baggage like there may be if you travel commercial, for your own ease, many of our clients prefer to only take carry-ons on their business trip.

Luckily, this doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice space or outfit choices as you can bring two, three, or any number of carry-ons, suit bags, etc.

We recommend having two outfits packed per day of your trip – one more casual and one for business. That way you’ll be prepared and comfortable without having to carry more than you need.

Garment Bags Are Essential

As mentioned above, having a carry-on (or carry-ons) doesn’t mean you have to leave your formalwear at home, in fact, we recommend always bringing suits or formal attire.

However, we also recommend you protect your business outfits by using a garment bag. The beauty of flying private is that you can bring multiple garment bags and there will be space for them to hang without becoming wrinkled.

Invest In Your Luggage

Regardless of if you choose to bring one suitcase, two, or carry-ons, you should invest in strong, stylish, and highly-functional luggage.

If you fly often, then having luggage you enjoy using is important. This might seem a small detail, but with the frequent use, it’s worth it to have luggage that is easy to pack and easy to move.

We also recommend updating your luggage yearly, as frequent use can make its performance slip after 12 months (or even sooner if you are a weekly flyer).

Bring Your Chargers

Many tips for flying say you should always charge all your devices before boarding – but that’s not for private jet charters.

On your own private aircraft, you’ll be able to charge anything you need during your flight. Though you can always charge your devices before the flight if you would like, there is no need to worry about your batteries as you can charge them whenever you need to.

Update Your Vault Team

For the most seamless and enjoyable flight experience, update your Vault Aviation team of your arrival, any delays or changes. We will speak with your pilot and crew, who can, in turn, make any updates needed with air traffic control and make sure the jet is ready for takeoff as soon as you are.

A few words to your Vault Jet team and your changes or delays are no longer a problem – so you can sit back and relax, knowing we have it handled. This is yet another one of the benefits of flying private with an On Demand charter – you are fully in control while still having fewer hassles.

Make Requests Ahead of Time

Remember – this is your private jet for the duration of your flight, this means any requests you have (food, drinks, times, personalization, etc) can be met.

Just let your Vault Aviation team member know what you would like and sit back and relax. We can meet most requests and love going above and beyond. This is one of the ways we make sure even your work flights are still enjoyable.

Want to fly with your team? Your pet? Do you have a specific meal or appetizer you would like? Or maybe you just have a particular drink you prefer – we can easily make that happen for you. All you need to do is let us know ahead of time.

Feel at Home

Our final tip is to feel at home.

This is your trip, your aircraft, and your experience. So, you have no reason to feel like a stranger in your own private jet charter. Don’t feel like a guest, instead, you should look at this as your own home in the air.

Vault Aviation treats each of our clients like a member of our family, and we want you to think of every private jet charter trip with us like it’s on your very own jet – just without all the depreciation, headaches, and maintenance fees.
