Shelter in Place Tips

Shelter in Place can be stressful for many, whether you have routines that are changing, children at home, or if you are now working from home. Regardless of your specific situation, we have a few Shelter in Place tips that we think can help everyone – they have certainly helped our team stay organized and sane!

Make a New Schedule

Schedules can help everyone, and even if your usual schedule has been rocked, you can create a new one that will give you organization, efficiency, and keep you from feeling like a jet with no pilot.

Think about the things you have to get done (work responsibilities, home chores, family duties, etc.) and put them on certain days or certain time blocks each day. This will not only help you get more done and know where your time went, but it will also help you to know what day it is and avoid the ‘days don’t matter, everything is a blur’ phase.

Be Flexible & Kind to Yourself

Schedules can be great, but if you are too harsh or rigid on yourself because of your schedule, then they can actually do more harm than help. Make sure you are kind to yourself and your family by understanding that flexibility is needed.

If you only get 6 hours of work instead of 8, that’s alright. If you didn’t get to that final chore you were hoping to do today, that’s alright. And if you want to take an hour to relax and read, or watch your guilty Netflix show, that is okay too.

Staying flexible and understanding that sometimes you might need to change your schedule is very important during times of crisis. But make sure you update your schedule to show these changes so next week’s schedule can be more realistic.

Make Time for Fun

Speaking of time for Netflix, reading, or relaxation, make sure you ‘schedule’ in time for fun as well.

If you are eating healthy all week, allow yourself a cheat meal or a ‘no workout’ day on weekends. If you are still working 40+ hours during the week, then make a hard cutoff time at 5 or 6 in the evening and get an hour or two of ‘fun’. Plan walks or movie nights with your family, virtual cocktail hours and Skype meetings with friends – the options are endless.

The main takeaway here is that your schedule shouldn’t be all work and no play, because that isn’t realistic, especially during times like now where stress and worry are a little higher than normal. Give yourself time to unwind and relax, because a great way to stay healthy is to learn to manage your stress.

Safety Tips

Safety during COVID-19 doesn’t just affect you or your household, but everyone that you come into contact with, as well as who those people come into contact with – so it is admittedly a big deal!

Use These Safety Tips From the CDC to Stay Safe During COVID-19:

Clean your hands often
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Stay home as much as possible.
Put distance between yourself and others.
- Some people without symptoms may be able to spread the virus.
Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others.
- The cloth face cover is meant to protect other people in case you are infected.
- Do not use a facemask meant for a healthcare worker.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.
- After coughing or sneezing, wash your hands for at least 2 seconds or use hand sanitizer with over 60% alcohol.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily.
- This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks.

Cutting Travel For a Little While

Vault Aviation loves traveling as much as the next private flyer and we understand that travel is necessary for many in work and their everyday lives, but we also know that traveling can be dangerous right now and could expose you and others to COVID-19.

There is no nationwide travel ban and many areas are still allowing work and travel. We recommend that our clients only travel when necessary and put non-essential travel on hold for a little while. We care about your safety more than any bottom line.
